I think I have to switch to Yoshi (the easy mode) character soon otherwise these levels are quickly slipping out of my skill zone 😂 #SuperMarioBrosWonder
@mdrabbles Yep, I’m a big advocate of easy modes. It’s the only reason I finished Yoshi’s Woolly and Crafted Worlds. Not all of us have twitch reactions or grew up with Mario games but it’s great to get to enjoy them too.

And I agree. I wished more games had this option. I rarely play for difficulty as I get easily discouraged when I don’t do well (hence me putting off my FFXIV dungeons and trials for so long). I really just want a cozy play through with minimum stress.
@mdrabbles I think you'll enjoy it! There are multiple mechanics to nudge you through, and I've found them to be much more helpful than previous Mario games as there's usually a "trial" level to explain what all the mechanics do.
Some badges are better than others, and they've done a great job of adding some for power players and some for people who struggle.
@elisse@mdrabbles I have a weird relationship with challenge. I grew up with the “NES hard” games and still enjoy some of them now.
But these days I have patience problems. I don’t want to be frustrated and have no problems playing on easy but I also don’t want a game to be too easy to where I get bored.

I had a thrift store NES that would randomly decide to freeze and would bootloop if I didn't use a Game Genie for some reason. I got a lot of my desire for hard challenge out of the way early too. :blobcatgiggle:
I'll occasionally get hit with wanting to try something harder, but if I struggle for too long I shelve it for a while and come back later. That's me right now with the XIV extreme trials, back to stomp them and see where I finally hit a wall.
