@jalcine Hosting what is the key question, I guess? Lots of people doing interesting hosting on rpis, but you’re right that I’ve never heard of (say) a fediverse/ActivityPub site optimized for “home” service on a small device.

And Pleroma is efficiently written enough to run single user. Lemmy being written in Rust is efficient (but has many other issues).

The thing I’m looking for is a turnkey setup that includes a CDN service to potentially paper over the challenges of homelab reliability

@boris @luis_in_brief See, that's doable. HomeAsisstant has this solved with their remote HA support (which is probably some OAuth2 dance)

@jalcine @boris I still wish a decade ago someone had done home Android + single-click-install services + simple non-CLI UX for config + few-click CDN support. But I think that moment is probably passed.

@luis_in_brief @jalcine I’ve been going deep into Cloudron, which I think has a more usable and sustainable model.

All of this (including Sandstorm) leaned a lot into retrofitting existing LAMP apps.
