I sorta low key wish mail services and shipping options would give me the ability to indicate "I am not in a hurry"

Most people I'm sure want their package yesterday, but unless I specifically have a use for what's inside, I really don't care if it takes a day or a week.

I'd rather people don't feel rushed and, don't throw my package about, especially on these black friday type of events, and it'd be cool if I could indicate that somehow, other than not selecting the priority mail options ofc.

@anthropy can I introduce you to Galaxus?
They have that option 👀
(Also they are a cool platform, though not always the cheapest)

@Pixdigit it looks like a nice clean website, though I already have a subscription with bol.com for always free shipping (12 a year and never pay a dime, not even for priority or 1€ parcels!), or visit local shops, but I'll keep it in mind!

@anthropy That's the thing I like about Galaxus. If you order something below 30€ they charge you a "small order fee" to prevent people from making tons of small purchases and allowing for more efficient logistics. That way they cause a way lower carbon footprint. Also that incentivises buying local if possible.

Also they are extremely customer friendly: you can see price development, and how often things get returned for either defects or dissatisfaction.

@Pixdigit I get the whole charging for orders below 30 train of thought, but I personally disagree with it, because people might buy more than they need, and personally if there'd be an option to indicate "yea just drop it off whenever you're in the area again"/"I'm not in a hurry" I don't think it would make that much of an impact.

They seem nice and clean and respectful of their customers though, I'm just already kinda satisfied with where I currently usually order things ^^

@anthropy yea, no worries. They are just by far the most customer friendly shopping site I ever used (including bol)

@Pixdigit Bol is definitely not the best in customer friendliness, they usually defer responsibility to the shop that's selling the stuff on their platform, just like Amazon basically. The reviews are mediocre and the return rates are not visible. For that Galaxus looks rather nice. I do intend to keep them in mind :)

@anthropy don't feel pressured, I am just sharing my experience 😅

@Pixdigit no worries, I'm not planning to switch any time soon (mostly because for the type of stuff they sell I tend to use Tweakers.net's pricewatch feature instead and buy at local stores), but it's always good to compare and be critical of everything 😁
