I just switched from OpenVPN to wireguard for remotely accessing my home automation stuff. It took less than 5 minutes and worked out of the box and on the first try. @nblr Yes, definitely! I have been using it for my home stuff for a year now and it is really painless. What I like the most is that setting it up is almost as simple as adding an ssh key to your allowed keys file. No need to perform dark magic to summon the x509 gods. 😅
@uncanny_static Indeed! I‘ve used OpenVPN with PSKs and without X.509 until now, because it was pretty versatile and configurable. But that’s out of the window now.
@grumpy_copi Ich hab wg seit Jahren auf >1gbit/s point-to-point links in Verwendung, aber für den Hausgebrauch wegen Flexibilität (TCP/UDP, port, etc) und für Kleinkrams OpenVPN.
