For the rest of my time on Gnome, I will be using the Wayland session.

You know, just to make me hate myself more.

Have you customised it enough to break things with non GNOME stuff yet or did you spend some significant time on vanilla GNOME to see what that's like.

I've come to realise I've not experienced plain GNOME recent years because Ubuntu and Zorin both add just enough via extensions and custom decisions around dock/panel/menu behaviour or merely accent colours that it's not quite the same thing.

If I'll use more QT apps I may still want to finally go to another DE.

@prlzx I tried it for about 10 minutes. I can't stand the hidden dock. So I added Dash to Panel, and then said if I have one...I should have all the extensions.

@thelinuxcast @prlzx I've been using GNOME for 3 years after years with KDE Plasma, it was very confusing at first, and I used a lot of extensions, mainly Dash to Panel and ArcMenu.
After several months I slowly started experimenting with the GNOME interface, and little by little I got used to it (now I use it very efficiently, and I love it).
For those who come from other DEs and prefer a Windows-like approach, it's understandable not to like GNOME.
