Some people say that I don't stay on topic, or I'm being vague.
There's a word for keeping everything in mind all at once though:
Holistic thinking.
It's when you see that all the parts are all interconnected. Language has a limited bandwidth. Language is better at details than explaining the big picture. That's why you need to write entire books to explain it.
If you try to explain it quickly, people just think you're full of shit. "What is this vague mumbo-jumbo?"
@thor I frequently have the same problem. A lot of people think everything can, and should, be distilled down to simple easily understood chunks of information. I don’t think most people are big picture thinkers, either. That’s why we have bumper stickers. 😏
@jhclouse One may have to distill it down to such simple chunks of information for the people who need that.
They won't listen to you though. They listen to authority figures or trusted friends. And they might listen to you if you give them a practical demonstration.
My current approach to a new life is going to look a lot more credible when I have some demonstrable success with it, for example.
But holistic ideas aren't taken out of thin air. They're pattern detection. You do some research and some soul searching and you start seeing how things are connected, and you base your approach on that.
