Years ago I attended up to 19 conferences and workshops per year (Perl, FOSDEM, OSCON, T-DOSE, etc).
I met a lot of people. Somehow, many of those remember my name. Likewise, I forget theirs, and their face. Facebook and Mastodon help me to recognise their name and face.
Running gag at quite a lot of those meetings: at the bar, suddenly a whisky is placed in front of me. I look up, questioning why who what?
Laughter. "Wendy, you forgot us again, just like last year, same place, same time."
