Meetup has been bought and the buyer has a history of predatory business model and prices on its userbase. I'm thinking of moving all @grusp PUGs (PHP user groups) from meetup to a federated application link Gancio or Mobilizon. Dear followers @phpc what's your opinion?
@heiglandreas@grusp@phpc Mobilizon Is one of the software I'm testing right now. I think we could federate national instances (Ie. events.grusp.org) or stay together under the umbrella of phpc
@fullo@grusp@phpc While I understand the preference of local/national instances I am a strong proponent of one instance for all. It encourages the exchange between different people of different nations and fosterns the understanding that we are all one community.
@heiglandreas@fullo@grusp@phpc I'm very much inclined to agree with @heiglandreas on this - having it as just one instance might foster connections better between people than having separate instances.
