This sort of dependency hell is what lead to docker containers being the dominant form of package management in IT. Only a matter of time before we containers in browser.

Apparently I am too late #WebContainers already exists. It advertises that you can now enjoy the power of #NodeJS in the browser.

@o76923 WebContainers doesn't actually run in the browser, it runs in the cloud, which is kinda pointless

there also is container2wasm where they compile a x86 emulator to wasm and use that to run normal containers in the browser. works surprisingly well.

See, that's what I was hoping/fearing it was. The example of getting debian running in browser is like something from a nightmare... A beautiful, wonderful nightmare.
