I didn't know much about Contra before the collab. Just

  1. It's not same Contras that Reagan dealt with
  2. Nintendo Hard and the Konami code came from it
  3. The spread shooter is an upgrade that lets you shoot 3 bullets at once

After playing the collab DLC... I don't know much more about it and, I'm sorry to say, it hasn't really gotten me more interested in the franchise. I don't mind paying $3 for more vampire survivors stuff though so it's not the end of the world.

Is anyone curious about how hugs work among neomoji? Here's a table comparing how 18 different servers handle hugs. The screenshot is a pivot table showing every hugger-hugee combination. The HTML is a detailed breakdown of every hug observed across servers that have them.

Some fun trivia:

  1. Bat, Bee, Puffer, and Yassie are the only ones you cannot be sad while hugging.

  2. Bot is the only one that has an option reversing hugger and huggee using the :neofox_hugged_by_bot: syntax.

  3. It's weird to me that the hugger is on the right. I am so used to LTR word order.

  4. I don't like that it's :neofox_hug_cat: instead of :neofox_hug_neocat:. It is inconsistent and ambiguous (blobcat is also a thing).

  5. For servers that are inconsistent, it's almost always using a heart variant of a hug for the regular hug for the same pairing.

  6. Poor neobread. It hugs so many but is only hugged by other neobread.

Pleroma.envs.net appears to have higher resolution versions of neomoji than other instances using them. They aren't the full 2048×2048 but they are higher than the 256×256 most reduce it to.

Oh hey, new Vampire Survivors DLC is out today at some point.

I still find it amusing that Brad Fang got a dedicated spot in the trailer. It's almost like the developer knows who people REALLY wanted to see. Just a pity he doesn't say "It's payback time!". XD

In the US, Ajit Pai really did a lot to make it worse. It was teetering due to social anxiety and young people having healthy respect for boundaries. But I think covid forcing people to learn alternatives for work pushed it over the edge that Pai set up making spam phone calls more common.

I had assumed that which were unique to an instance were most likely created by someone on that instance. That's definitely not the case given how few are unique to is-a.wyvern.rip, the solo instance for Volpeon... creator of the original neofox and neocat.

Of the 13 servers currently being included

Pleroma.envs.net (hereafter PEN) has the most unique ones with a whopping 191. Second and third are void.rehab and woem.space with 42 and 41.

There's no single reason PEN has so many but the neofox_halo series, unique neobread variants, and so many more combinations of hugs are major contributors.

Gib.schmus.is has a lot of unique woozy variants, but not all of them.

I would have thoughtneobun came out in the past week by how suddenly it appeared and spread but it's apparently older than that? I found a post on tech.lgbt mentioning neobun already existed but they seem to be the server with the most unique ones on it. Just another piece of evidence that I have more work to do.

I'm starting to see a few created by getting added to servers. That's cool. I'm glad that project is improving and spreading.

I wonder what makes things like neocat_final_form almost universal among servers that have it but neocat_bongo_fast has at least 4 different names.

Can someone tell me the URL to find the emoji manifest in ? Some equivalents are

Sharkey: /api/emojis
Pleroma: /api/v1/pleroma/emoji
Glitch-soc: /api/v1/custom_emojis

I know that such a file has to exist because emojos.in works correctly for void.rehab but I don't know enough to figure out where they're getting the path out of the server instance.

Also, it's been a long running scam that anyone who tried to sell a used Tesla ran into. The extended battery range, like FSD, is tied to a user-vehicle pair. You have to pay again if you get a new car. The person who bought your car used also has to pay Tesla if they want the extra range.

If by fun, you mean terrible, there are a handful of TLDs that permit you to register emoji in the canonical form of your domain. So www.🐱.to would work. For services or software that don't support it, www.xn--5o8h.to, is the Punycode input to redirect to it.
