This piece from the March 1858 issue is focused on a #Welsh music festival in, "A queer little welsh town," (that's not named but begins with the letter M), "with an androgynous population, or so it seemed to me, who had never before beheld women wearing men's hats and coats, and men with head-coverings and other articles of apparel of a very ambiguous description."

Going to see if I can figure out where this was.

I didn't expect to find this bit about #Wales in the fifth issue of the first volume of The Atlantic, coming as it did in the run up to the US Civil War when I'd have thought they'd have better things to write about, but I'm very happy I did. This is a very fun read :)
