@merchantHelios Everyone is dancing around it but the fact is there used to be poor White neighborhoods that were "economically depressed" but still safe to live in. Now the only places with houses below a quarter million dollars are in nigger* ghettos where you'll be shot if you ever walk out your front door (and some of the homies are probably also planning a home invasion). That's a fundamentally different scenario than the middle class Boomer found himself in the 70's.
*Even "starter" homes in predominantly Hispanic areas are now over $250k
@caekislove@merchantHelios I check Zillow daily for fun, and where I live you will not find a detached single-family home for <$300,000.
residences under $300K are townhomes or condos (not necessarily shitty or bad locations) -OR- are literal meth-houses in various states of obvious decay (aka "HANDYMAN SPECIAL").
$250K+ is not a "starter home" pricetag.

@haberdasher@caekislove@merchantHelios A few year back I checked my home's value on Zillow and laughed out loud. It was a complete bullshit valuation, but it's like that everywhere. No way in hell are any of these houses worth that much but the counties love those inflated numbers when it comes time to calculate property taxes.
The whole market can't crash soon enough, it's way overdue.

@merchantHelios "Where do poor Whites own homes?", you might be asking. The answer is they don't. They rent. There's no subsidies for White home ownership in the USA.
