Fallen down a rabbit hole of third party Apple Music apps that offer different layouts and things like last.fm scrobbling - Cider, Marvis Pro (!) & Soor. Anyone used any others?
Cs Music Pro, which is basically Music before Apple Music. So it’s your collection, rather than tabs based around algorithms.
Longplay: based heavily on albums. Less opinionated than it used to be (one time it didn’t even allow you to skip tracks) but still wonderful. I hope the dev figures out how to work around macOS bugs so I can get this one on my iMac too.
Edit: I don’t use last.fm so be mindful of the above Cs doesn’t support it but Longplay should.
@craiggrannell Because I use my Plex Library with Plexamp, I actually want algorithms/recommendations in Apple Music, but will have to try Longplay - I'm very much album-driven!
@jonhicks I tend to switch between these apps, depending on how I feel. Cs is genuinely great for focusing purely on your collection, like Music used to be. Longplay is ideal for sorting your albums by different criteria and then tapping a cover to play it right through. (And it has album shuffle too, which you can kick off directly from search.)
