Larger vehicles, like SUVs should have to make the driver have a different class if licence... After watching someone take a 6 point turn, when it should be max 3 ... And forward and reverse at least a dozen times to park in a spot, where they are still taking two spaces ... Just saying

Absolutely, also towing trailers; there should be a Light Articulated licence, requiring professional training.
Overweight caravans are just a symptom of the problem. The problem is incompetent/untrained drivers, ignorant of what they are doing.

My controversial take is also training to have Bike Racks, Roof Racks and anything else outside the original footprint of the vehicle.

@melissabeartrix @caity There is an amusing back-story about how "pick-up trucks" came to dominate the American car market, and it started with frozen chicken imports into Europe.

It involves, naturally, tariffs.

@melissabeartrix it should be not only based on weight, but length, width, height.

The way these stupid "trucks" are getting so large that they hide a grown man in front of them, they should definitely need to prove via an additional license endorsement that they can drive them properly.

In USA, motorcycles usually require an endorsement on your state license in order for you to legally ride on the road. A stupidly large SUV should be no different.

@yakkoj Hubs and I think this also. Graded car licensing. If you get your licence driving a 4 cyl, with limited horsepower, that's what you have to drive. If you want to upgrade to a 6 cyl, or an SUV, you have to pass a test to qualify for that licence upgrade. We also want to see extra tuition for towing a trailer, or boat, or caravan...and an endorsement that you have proven efficiency. @melissabeartrix

For sure ... It should also be done with horse power / wright / size ... Hugz
