@davidzipper In my local town in Greece, where streets are very narrow, there are two parallel business streets, one open to cars and the other not. The one without cars is always crowded with people, the one with cars feels deserted.

Drivers who want to get to the pedestrian area park on one of the several large parking lots outside, and walk.
