COMMENTARY CLUB 093 - Zombie Creeping Flesh

We are looking at a legendarily shoddy movie - a 1980s Italian Dawn of the Dead knock-off - Zombie Creeping Flesh AKA Virus AKA Hell of the Living Dead AKA Night of the Zombies AKA That Bloody Terrible Film

Who thought it would be a good idea to remove that option?

@tomorohhidari noticed this only recently, why is it gone?

I saw a denialist hyping a new movie on YouTube today. I'm not going to waste my time but I'm curious. Does anyone knows about this Climate: The Movie hosted by Ivor Cummins. (Not going to link to it.)

Wonderful Drombeg stone circle for from a visit in 2019.

The most famous of all Irish recumbent stone circles. It meant a lot to finally make it here all the way from Aberdeenshire - the land of the RSC. Just a brilliant circle. A magic day. As happy as a spaceways gets.

@Spaceways my all time fave! I’m from Cork and I always bring visitors to this one 👍

A sequel that survives in the shadow of a classic. I much prefer the next film, but Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) still has a daring ending.

And full of ruins that prolong the iconic last scene of the first film.

WideAtlanticWeird,
@WideAtlanticWeird@mastodon.social avatar

@Barebower @TheSpaceshipper Escape is a really worthy sequel in my opinion. Poses genuinely interesting sci-fi questions, and has loads of pathos, warm characters, and a kind of scary feel of inevitability to it.

NEW EPISODE! It's Frank Frazett'a 'Thun'da' - a 1950s comic with Tarzan-alike jungle heroes and a lost world of dinosaurs in Africa.

Star Wars: Dark Forces was released 29 years ago, and a Remaster is available for 2 days.

Originally, the Moldy Crow was called The Crow, and had a completely different design: a Baudo-class star yacht, introduced in 1990 in a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.

The beauty of universal basic income is its simplicity. No means tests. No bureaucracy. Just pure, unadulterated economic freedom. This isn’t a handout; it's an investment in our society and an overdue GDP dividend. It’s time we took this step towards equality and true liberty.

WideAtlanticWeird,
@WideAtlanticWeird@mastodon.social avatar

@scottsantens much of our economic model is based on terrible, badly-paid jobs which are taken by people out of desperation or lack of options. Big business will never agree to removing that particular plank
