i am participating in this exercise challenge at work, which involves tracking my activity (moving, standing, exercise) on my watch. if i move stand and exercise enough i will receive a hat. it turns out that you can just tell your watch that you're doing yoga and do nothing at all and it will count for all three things.

ghutchis,

@jbigham - does this include steps? Somehow I get a lot of those between life and running…

@ghutchis i usually do okay on moves… i think the different things are based on the idea that you want to be generally active, get actual exercise, and also don't want to be sedentary the rest of the time. steps are not explicitly counted for this challenge.

ghutchis,

@jbigham - yes I think the Apple Watch pushing “the rings” is a good idea in general. I’m surprised that Garmin and other activity trackers haven’t done more to copy the concept. A desk job is not great for general fitness.

@jbigham Yoga all day, though.

Also, I hope that’s just a thing someone told you and not something you did to cheat.

@dom i could be doing yoga right now, you don't know. tooting is my mantra. i practice breathing in coordination with my feed.
