tallship,

Prolly explains why, everytime I felt burnt out and sought out a different career path, then threw the switch and continued to clackity clackity clack down that other track...

I always came back. In fact, Looking back, it should have been obvious - why would someone go to bed with a technical journal or some textbook on IT by choice when they've left (or so they thought) that career for a new and unrelated one?

@tallship interesting read. I retired 4 years ago and realised after that, especially for men, we are often defined by our work. Stop working, and suddenly you're no longer called about everything, etc.

My hobbies tho are also technology, so I've been kept really busy with now just pursuing my own interests around IT, minus having to clock in and out, fill in time sheets, do reports, etc.

It is essential to have challenging hobbies to get involved with, and to make friends around.
