Maybe I don't have all the information but my gut feeling is that there's a lot of rush to blame the Boeing stuff on bad engineering and bad programming instead of on a systemic rot stemming from decades of executive and managerial malfeasance
there was a thread going around about like 'oh look they stored number of planes in a float wtf are they even doing over there' as though optimization and sensibility in data structure has anything at all to do with what an international billionaire company produces
