Regarding the whole Lyft and Uber pulling out of US states, You always should really look into other paratransit options in your state. For example, in a few states, they will subsidize your cab rides. Some states have UZerve. Some states have on demand options that are not Lyft and Uber. Paratransit isn’t the only offering.
@zersiax As per the ATA, they must provide an on demand transit system that is comparable to the public transit system and if they don’t, I hope there’s an organized effort to sue every single state that does not provide this requirement
@weirdwriter uhh yeah ...but public transit systems the US over are horrible. What that concretely means is that there might be an on-demand service that will only actually show up if you call days in advance, and you'll get a super cranky driver who'll blame you for having to drive, say, to the other side of the state if you happen to live there. These kinds of laws are great, but companies will find any loophole they can to only just about meet them
