opened YouTube and saw this, looks like EU is forcing Google to ask if we want our data to be shared across multiple services for ads purposes. Which probably no one wants.
@djlink in UK, got a YouTube ad for a shoe shop couple of miles away from me even though YouTube has no permission to use location. Bit of a joke that a Google app can just get location from another app or background service even if it's got no permission to use location.
@djlink It reads to me like "Hey, we're allowed to share data to Prevent Crime and have Interoperability, but the EU require us to ask consent to do the stuff that makes us the real money"
