@coolboymew@sjw magnets/metal rods sealed in plastic so that don't react to the chemicals in solution. There is a magnet in the hot plate that spins so you can stir a solution while heating it.
@coolboymew@sjw@DasSauerkraut this thing absolutely lives inside some onlyfans femboi from Findlay Ohio four days a week whos trying to pay for his moms chemo.
@DasSauerkraut@coolboymew@sjw Some may not even be a magnet at all in the sense of a permanent magnet but rather a form of electric motor to induce the rotation, or rather just the circular multi-coil armature that creates a rotating magnetic field to spin the magnet.
@EdBoatConnoisseur@sjw@coolboymew Yeah I was being general, but a coil might be longer lived inside one of those versus a wpinning magnet, given how well magnets tolerate high heat.
@DasSauerkraut@sjw@coolboymew What i'm interesting tho is the coil arrangement, as usual electric motor coils are designed to have the spinning magnet and axle inside the volume of the coils, so those mixers would need to project the magnetic field upwards than regular motors.
@sjw@coolboymew
Yeah, though that's one case where plastic, even as bad as Teflon, is probably safe to have. Last thing you want to do is add in an unintentionally reactive substance or catalyst to a reaction vessel.
