Again and again @ivory - in #ivory I see this Problem a lot. A posting with a short video clip. In Ivory I see just a gray area. If I tap it, I get a black (empty) player. Nothing plays.
I tap the share icon and select „open in Mona“ - I see the posting with a preview of that video. If I tap it, it instantly plays.
Don’t tell me it’s the server/instance or something. This works in #Mona and #IceCubes and I could check the older toot! If I need to. Only with ivory i see this problem.
@nSonic When you experience this, go to your own website instance (make sure you are on the troet.cafe website), find the same post, and see if it plays on your instance.
@nSonic@kameit00 We know what the “problem” is. But really it's working as expected as we are using the API just like the website. I'd talk to your server admin to see why it's not working the way it should be first. Ivory isn't the problem as we are using the public API as we should be doing.
@ivory@kameit00 sure thing. We were there before. I’ll try this one with my product management next time to. „No it’s all as expected. That’s the API. Nothing i could do. What? WhatsApp and others are doing it better? 🤷♂️ not my business“ 🤪 (i think I might have a new job soon 🫣)
@nSonic Not saying there's nothing we can do. But we have more important things to do right now than hack around the system to solve a small problem that very few users happen to encounter. When we have more time, we can address little things like this. But we already have work on our plate to last the next few years and it just keeps growing. 🙂
