chikorita157, I wonder, how do people manage to preorder figures. Sure, there are sites like AmiAmi that doesn’t have the ability to prepay up at front. Since exchange rates can fluctuate, I would rather pay at front. I have savings to pay up front without getting into massive debt over a hobby. I do track my spending while still contributing to retirement and investing.
However going overboard with not paying preorders can be a dangerous game, especially more so with the Buy Now Pay Later financing, which allows you to split up a purchase into 3-4 payments every two weeks. What is dangerous is that people tend to spend even more, thus get into the debt trap.
I wonder, how to people pay for their anime figure preorders and how people afford to buy releases. To be honest, I haven't been preordering any newest releases lately since not many figures are worth preordering.
