At last, I unpacked the Kafuu Chino (Kirara Fantasia) Mahou ver and Magical Girl Chino figures.
The Kirara version is rather simple to put together, and seems inspired by Magical Girl Chino one.I do like how both of them look, but of course the Anime Co-op Magical Girl Chino figure was a bit tricky to put together.
The last piece of the used Anime Figures I picked up, Kafuu Chino (Kirara Fantasia) Mahoutsukai ver.
This version looks somewhat familar to the Magical Girl Chino (https://myfigurecollection.net/item/427732) one I should probably assemble this one to check the condition, but it wasn't expensive though.
My collection is mostly consists of Gochiusa figures now and I have like4 Chino figures and 1 doll.
I wonder, how do people manage to preorder figures. Sure, there are sites like AmiAmi that doesn’t have the ability to prepay up at front. Since exchange rates can fluctuate, I would rather pay at front. I have savings to pay up front without getting into massive debt over a hobby. I do track my spending while still contributing to retirement and investing.
However going overboard with not paying preorders can be a dangerous game, especially more so with the Buy Now Pay Later financing, which allows you to split up a purchase into 3-4 payments every two weeks. What is dangerous is that people tend to spend even more, thus get into the debt trap.
I wonder, how to people pay for their anime figure preorders and how people afford to buy releases. To be honest, I haven't been preordering any newest releases lately since not many figures are worth preordering.
Forgot to mention, I also bought this figure this week since this caught my eye. It's Chino (the Kirara Fantasia version). It appears Cocoa and Hifimi got a figure release from the now defunct Gacha game that lasted for about 5 years.
Wow, this is just a nightmare. This is why I don’t touch Surface Mail. Sure, you can save money on shipping, but if you are spending that much on figures already, well, the risk of after waiting 3 months just to have the package return to sender and having to wait another three months hoping it doesn’t get lost.Probably not worth saving about half it would if shipped with EMS.
I admit, I haven't been preordering that many figures lately, primarily Azone dolls as there aren't that many that appeal to me lately. Not to mention, the prices on them... Yeah.
I happen to buy these as an impulse. One is Sharo as Phantom Thief Lapin and also Hoto Cocoa figure. Both are used and in good condition.
Since I have not really posted up about them in a while, here are some of my anime figures I have at work. Don't mind the Parks and Rec poster behind it.
I have three Q-Posket figures of Sailor Mars, Sailor Moon, and Nami from One Piece.
I also have the three cosplaying figures. My favorite are Pikachu as Nezuko and Nezuko as Pikachu. I just find them funny.
Which is your favorite? Do you have some figures on display at your desk / office?
While it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but I was at work, so I have to pick it up. I think I ordered these figures in July and somehow, they weren't available for preorder on CDJapan for some reason.
I think WataYuri are the only yuri series that received a scale figure. Actually, 6 in fact.
These are the latest additions to my Japanese Doll collection (seems like II'm collecting more of these than Aniime Figures these days.) The two dolls are from the mixed media franchise, Assault Lily which is a franchise that Azone International owns, who also makes Japanese dolls,
The ones I have are Hitotsuyanagi Riri and Hitotsuyanagi Yuri.
I think I preordered this Nendoroid because well, Umika is cute.. which will make a nice pairing with the Hitori and Kaoruko Nendoroids for obvious reasons
Finally, the last Magical Girl of the Machikado Mazoku figures, Hinatsuki Mikan finally came in, well a week ago I think.
Maybe I should make room on the bookcase to put it up (still need to figure out what display case to get for the other figures, which are still in their boxes.
It’s not too surprising that most anime figures are dropping after their release. It does reduce the incentive to preorder them even if the USD/Yen is being just as weak compared to last year.
With rising interest rates and sticky inflation, I don’t think many in the hobby have discretionary income to buy or continue to do so like they used to.
Also, I feel that the anime figure market is saturated at this point. People aren’t buying new figures at the new high prices plus with QC issues?
I haven’t preordered many new ones, maybe perhaps 5 so far compared to several last year, but that is about it. Also, I need a display case or shelf since I don’t have room, so I don’t have any incentive to do any more preorders right now, unless it’s something I really want.
Target is selling these cloches again during Halloween season. I remember people pointing out online last year that they actually make good and relatively cheap displays for anime figures. They're not actual glass, but they're solid and they look just as good. I think some people were even breaking off the bat ornament on top, but given who my favorite is it's on brand to have it stay on. 😈
People would probably buy these year round if they'd just sell them. :3725_aquapout:
Now to start uploading some photos of Anime Merch, which I will post in the coming days. I found this figure, which is surprisingly reasonable and still sealed. Bought this back in July.
