Am I right thinking that it's just plain WRONG to charge the same price for a sausage roll as for a pie? To my mind, sausage rolls should be about two-thirds the pie price.

I think you are right, Tim. It's an intrinsically less elaborate structure (open ends, single line of pastry crimping as opposed to quadrilateral), and a greater weighting of pastry to filling.
That said, the last few years of post-pandemic and geopolitical supply chain disruption may have had disproportionate knock-on effects on input costs. Maybe pastry futures have soared? Or as Occam's razor would suggest - they're shamelessly price-gouging the snack-hungry.

😂😂😂 I’m sure that sausage rolls used to be smaller than pies & were regarded more as a snack. At school, for lunch orders, I’d have either 1 pie or 2 sausage rolls. This was several decades ago, so things might’ve changed…
