I was supposed to go bike camping but Cookie’s pancreas is acting up again. Old dog problems. I’d rather stay in and cuddle with her (in between cleaning up)
@skinnylatte travelling when Carlos kitty was waning was always so tough. Couldn’t leave for more than 24 hours, and toward the end it was just ... kinda constant doodoo cleanup and we couldn’t travel at all.
The towel-wrapped, horrible smell cuddles were worth it.
@katieonviolin yep, start of life and end of life with dogs and kitties are always so hard. I couldn’t leave her when I first got her too, she now she’s 15 and it’s the same but different circumstances
@skinnylatte@katieonviolin I hear you. I had to have my first dog put to sleep at 14 years old over the phone (with a vet who was a longtime, trusted friend, at least) when she suddenly crashed while we were across the country. It's so hard to leave them at any age, but those very last years are incredibly tough.
