y'know, the government could process the asylum claims of these refugees and sort out the backlog instead of, it seems, trying to incarcerate them all forever.
has it evaded the govt that some people are honest to goodness refugees? yeah, it has.

Totally cheaper to simply grant asylum and help them find a job so they're contributing to the economy instead of paying to house them and banning them from working
