I guess that wasn't that bad, when I think about the time window for my IKEA delivery.
They said 7 am to 10 am. Well it's 10:34 and according to their tracking website they're on the other side of Berlin… I'm the next customer though. But I’ve an IKEA around the corner. Why isn't it delivered from there?
We have a pretty small timeframe for this before we have to get the child from kindergarten, so it's "a bit" annoying.

@hannsr Normally I wouldn't care that much. But if they don't arrive in time (they have still 18 Minutes for the initial timeframe) we have a problem as there's pretty much no chance we can assemble everything in time before we have to pick up the child…

I really wish we decided to get it ourselves. But we had a pretty small timeframe to get everything done.
Not that this would matter now anyways… Now I have an unusable home office and have to fight the urge of a 20 months old child to crush my Fritzbox and tear down the cables until at least Friday.
Well… Tried to reach IKEA via phone. After 30 Minutes of on-hold music they said they have no idea where my delivery is. Maybe I get it today, maybe not. If it isn’t delivered today, they’ll try again on Friday…
I took a fucking day off and removed the old furniture from my hallway yesterday. This is so frustrating.
@iieksi Yup. It's absolutely hilarious. Now I have an empty hallway (except some cables I now have to "hide" from my child) and a stuffed home office I barely can use. 🙃
@kaiserkiwi Similar experience with the kitchen delivery by IKEA for my mother. Was done by a subcontractor, came later then announced and a lot of waiting time was involved. Not sure if I would order a kitchen at IKEA again. 🤷
@kaiserkiwi Ugh, I hate days like this, and I especially hate it when not even common courtesy is extended to customers. They make us take time off from our livelihoods to wait on them, and then they can't even be bothered to make good on their commited time.
Super frustrating. I feel you. I hope that it at least comes on the next time that they told you, on Friday (even though it totally sucks to have to wait a week).
Funfact it arrived shortly after the promised time window. And to my surprise everything is there and so far nothing is broken.
But still about 100 hours too late. Technically the time window was now Monday 7am to Friday 2pm. And they still weren’t on time. ^^" This is just embarrassing IKEA.
@kaiserkiwi So many businesses just moved the "supply chain shortages" excuse from the pandemic lockdowns into "business as usual". Now that it's 2-3 years on (depending on when you count the end of the lockdowns), they still haven't returned to pre-pandemic performance. They just kept using the same old excuse.
As a consumer, it's one thing to not know when your delivery might come because the whole world is effectively shut down; it's quite another several years later when everything is "back to normal".
It's infuriating.
But at least you did finally get your order and it was correct! I hope that you enjoy all this cool new stuff that you've been waiting on for too long! :cyberheart_green:
Finally assembled everything. This is definitely a different kind of challenge with a toddler. 😅 But I'm glad we're done.
Now just put everything in the new cupboards and only a bit of electronics next week so we have power in the middle section of the hallway and then we're finished. 🎉
We now have more than double the storage space in this area of the flat, we are much more flexible and it looks much better.
If he has time (I still have to contact him 😅), we optimize the light situation with @hannsr and I think the comfort of the hallway will be doubled.
