@jbaty My dad has been trying to scan negatives recently, but keeps getting bits of dust on them that are hard to dislodge. Do you have that problem, or a solution please? Is that perhaps what the hair dryer with a long nose thing on the table is?

@hl Yeah, dust can be a nightmare. And in my case, dog hair :). If hanging to dry in the bathroom, I run hot shower for a few minutes to generate some steam, which I think helps knock down the dust. Also, if he's scanning color film, using a "real" scanner (not a digital camera) that has the "Digital ICE" feature for scanning is a life-saver.

@jbaty OK, thanks. I'll have to see if the scanner has that setting. It's a real one - which I bought him as a present, which is why I feel partially responsible for the difficulty I've caused him with it.
