People told me that Neil Gaiman is a good writer. In fact, they said he’s one of the best. But this sentence is a little questionable. also, he’s used the word wall nine times in this exact same paragraph.
@thelinuxcast Ive never read Gaiman but his movie adaptations tend to hint at good storytelling, Perhaps when people say he's a good writer they're talking about the way he works with his characters and not the writing conventions he follows.
@jonulrich I think this is just a one-off. The further I get into it, the more it seems he's emulating fairy tales. All of those have odd grammar too, so it makes more sense if he's doing it on purpose.
