The students are just asking the schools to divest from Israel, until the genocide stops and Palestine has self-determination, like with South Africa…. Why is this considered differently? And is asking a university to change their investment portfolio cause for tasering them?

@LALegault When my father was a senior UBC prof, they literally had a program to recruit South African academics, help get them out, get visas - we hosted a PHD candidate for months until his family could join (escape)
Now UBC is threatening faculty, student groups with penalties for protesting the Gaza war - I hope there is US/Canada campus strike - let the admins wallow in ethical failure
