Reading through things good people are putting onto my timeline I am really glad I put my mezuzah on the inside of my front door instead of the outside where it's supposed to go.
@emmaaum I put mine up several months ago and am glad I put it on the inside. We're specifically allowed to place a menorah on a table inside the house in times of danger, and I don't see why a mezuzah is any different.

I felt like I was being overly cautious at the time (two and a half years ago). Now I'm relieved there's no "should I move it inside" decision to be considered during these last six months. It would be heart-breaking to do that.
@emmaaum When I was deciding where to put mine I did so much research because there’s no way to put it outside without creating some sort of new physical construction (weird doorframe), and apparently it doesn’t actually have to be outside as long as it’s on the doorpost.
So ours is just inside the door on the doorpost. I don’t think we’d have any problem round here but I do think right now it’s safer for most places to be inside.
@sheepchase yeah, there's usually an alternative way of going about things in Judaism, especially where safety is a potential concern. choose life, that you may live 🙂
Being a Jew is a deeply intrinsic part of myself because it shapes how I think.
But the rest of the world is so certain they know what that means only a very few will listen instead of assuming they know, that they have no blind spots, that they understand all they need to know.
We've gone into this deeply polarised dis-informed world of 1000% right v 1000% wrong with some 2200 years of prejudice and discrimination against Jews.
