Our particular brand of American neo-Fascism is born of “individualism” and the belief that the world is hard and cruel but one can persevere.
They will cheer cruelty: towards LGBTQ folks, POC, the poor, and even puppies (literally). Their rhetoric makes it clear that when they view the world as being too easy, they feel the righteous call to make the cruelty themselves.
This is why they have such a persecution fetish. They view themselves as uniquely suffering and everyone else as having an easy privileged life to justify “restoring” hardship to the rest of us.
