@ai6yr I don't get the "turn off air conditioners" thing unless they mean window units... which still should be introducing much outside air. Central AC should be recirculating indoor air, and turning off the AC in this oven is not much of an option!
@ai6yr That sucks because we know that the people who live next to that facility are most likely poor folks who have contributed very little to the massive emissions that have brought this heat to reality. They don’t deserve to face the consequences of our addiction to these refineries.
@sargasso Yes. The poor most certainly are the first to suffer from the ill effects of a heating planet. Both here in the US and particularly elsewhere.
@jhv It's a fairly routine thing, unfortunately, living next to those refineries (every few weeks... something might break, something vented, something spilled... lots of hazardous crud being moved around in pipes). You rarely hear what it was, unless it kills someone.
