Cusack Music Project 34 Selenium pre/drive.
It's kind-of like a klon: vol, tone, gain, can boost and/or add dirt.
Has a switch to add bass.
I'd say it's more creamy than fizzy in character.
I don't know where to put it yet... which pedal to take off the board, where to put it in the chain.

I like how it sounds! It's different, and it's good.

Not mid-forward, but the tone knob works well.

And the gain is easy to set to where grit is in the right hand and thirds ring clean.

Still don't know where to put it. Replace a pedal or shoehorn it in?

The screamer has more mids, and the klone has much more boost, and each breaks up differently. Then there's the Spark boost at the end of the chain. I could replace that.

I'll need to play different guitars through it with the amp and other pedals set different ways.

I don't like choosing. This is why I have a messy room.

@eyesquash I'm not familiar with that pedal, but it looks like something that would go better after the other gains, especially the screamer and the Spark. The screamer removes bass, so being able to reintroduce it could be quite handy. And the Spark is a bit brittle as I recall, so the creaminess could tame that while possibly stacking quite nicely.

@superglaze Cool!

It's going
Klone > Screamer > new proj 34 > Distortion > chorus>trem>reverb>delay > Spark > amp
The Spark is always on to serve as a preamp (The amp is a Valve Jr and has only one knob).

The stacked drives into the distortion add EQ and gain.

I'm running the amp clean but have a speaker soak if I want to crank it in the house.

Rear view. There's the selenium thing with a big old bolt through it. I guess.

I don't know what stays on my board now, but something perfectly good may well end up on the shelf.

@eyesquash Was this the pedal possibly to collect but not use because of its rarity? If so, kudos for plugging it in and making noise with it. 👍🤘🎸

@NigelTufnel I don't know how rare it's going to be - they ran out, and then they made more.
I plan to use it, maybe in place of the tube screamer clone or the klon clone. But they are all different, at least a little.
Maybe I'll check Reverb before I put Velcro on it tho.
And I've kept the box.

@eyesquash Made me think of this from Josh Scott’s JHS videos “He has the box”

@NigelTufnel Actually, I heard about the pedal on the JHS Pedal Show a couple weeks back.
