Yesterday, I held a call with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt and a call with Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar to discuss reaching a deal to secure the release of hostages together with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
We will work with Egypt and Qatar to ensure the full implementation of the terms of the deal, and exert all efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas which is now the only obstacle to an immediate ceasefire and relief for civilians in Gaza.
