@MLE_online Here in central Oklahoma, white shoes are an impossibility. The red dirt (port silt loam) gets on and in absolutely everything. I have a new pair of sneakers with light gray soles. I've worn them outside maybe three times. They're already getting a hint of red! 😫
@courtcan I went on a camping trip once as a kid in some place with that red dirt, and you've reminded me how it not only permanently stained my shoes, but also my clothes
@csnyder@MLE_online I'm married to someone who has approximately 30 pairs of shoes, some of which cost more than some of my bicycles, and she is extremely careful when and where she wears the nice ones. She changes shoes every time we leave, for the right shoes for the expected use and weather. She has shoes that have never been worn outside.
