With such a bridge all data, including a search index, would be stored unencrypted in the third party email client. We aim for a solution where all data is always stored securely encrypted.
Upon sending an email out of the third party email client, the user can't possibly know whether the email is actually going to be send end-to-end encrypted (the client can't show this as a bridge works on a different level). Therefore sending confidential emails via a bridge is essentially impossible...
IMAP and SMTP are not the most efficient protocols especially when it comes to push notifications or to attachments of emails (which are encoded into the body).
Eu queria ter meu próprio servidor de e-mail aqui na Bolha. Mas como uso IP residencial, mesmo com todos os recursos anti-spam configurados, eu ainda seria barrado a rodo pelas big techs.
E ainda daria um trabalho do cão configurar tudo, antes de sequer chegar a ser barrado pelo mundo exterior.
@cadusilva@rnpereira Metendo meu bedelho aqui para dizer que também uso o Zoho para e-mail e calendário e funciona muito bem. Meu e-mail do Google é basicamente só para usar o YouTube.
@cadusilva@rnpereira Em todos os sites que me parecem suspeitos eu uso o e-mail do Google para cadastro devidamente equipado com o operador +. Assim eu uso um pouco do serviço deles. Ademais o endereço deles tem um redirect pro meu e-mail de facto. Então fica tudo bem.
Sobre o problema com o Proton, foi o mercado livre quem não aceitou. Minha conta lá é com gmail, e tava querendo mudar pro Proton. Mas ele não aceita.
Talvez aceite o do tutanota. Tentar.
