Actually I was wrong. The official doujin just sucks. At least the first two chapters do.

@fujiwara My only exposure to the doujin was the OVA, which solidified that I didn't want to read it.

It's so weird that they mixed stuff from the doujin with an actual chapter from the main manga in that OVA.

@dopey_kun yeah II really annoyed me that they only used the doijun to show Chika's boobs and butt. And that was the only chapter they adapted!

@dopey_kun I guess sex sells so it makes sense. That was a weird turning point for the community for me. After the OVA, there was only one reason people on Reddit were talking about Chika :btr_seika_bruh:

@fujiwara I don't really participate in the community, so I wouldn't know.

I get the sex sells thing and I've made my peace that fanservice is just everywhere in anime. But it felt so weird seeing it in Kaguya-sama.

I know that in a way, the doujin is also supposed to be satirical or something, which is why it's so over-the-top... but still.

@dopey_kun I don't even mind fan service, and the show has made many jokes at Chika's expense, but yeah the OVA was just way too much, it felt wrong. Even if the doujin is satirical, I don't think the animators got that memo! :btr_bocchi_pain:
