What I really want to know given the passion the rapline especially Yoongi and Jooni have for American hiphop/rap, what do THEY a think about the current Drake/Kendrick Lamar beef. if ya thought the HYBE vs MHJ/Adore vs Army drama was fire ya'll be missing the shock and awe spectacular KL is dropping. American rap is known for its diss tracks/ beefs between rappers but this is wild. I don't know which drama is juicier but damn the universe is having some fun and spilling all the tea. 👀☕️
@MondayMarionJ I usually don't pay that much attention to American rap beefs, but this one is all over social media. I wasn't gonna go down the rabbit hole but I will say the lyrical genius of Kendrick Lamar was on display once again. The man does have a Pulitzer for musical writing and now everyone knows why. The cracks in American music heck all of entertainment are showing and I hope those who need it are held accountable.
@MondayMarionJ there's a reason why I am leery of the rappers BTS associate themselves with bc there is shady shit in American music/entertainment industries. Given the lust for money HYBE has and who they have hired to head their American division, that caution is warranted.
@MondayMarionJ There are a lot of rappers to choose from that aren’t tied to scandal although they don’t shy away from dropping truth bombs regarding society. JCole fits that bill and I enjoyed his collaboration with Hobi. It fit, but that’s the thing, Hobi chose it and it worked will bc JCole understood the assignment. Can’t say that about other collabs.
@GQB But from what I read, this goes way beyond rap beefs, but, I choose to stay out of Army discussions. It gives me a headache, I'll wait and see what the courts decide.
@MondayMarionJ oh it does but the drama is the same with some pretty damn strong accusations flying. As the saying goes smoke = fire. It proves that music industries and the folks are problematic across the world and it's not just the US. Although I'm just sitting over here with some tea and maybe some pop corn waiting for some more good music to drop, can't avoid it seeing it. It also serves as a reminder why I'm picky hell about what I listen to these days.
