I had an editor once who FedEx’d her horses cross-country between California and Florida properties. FedEx didn’t offer this service, but it did for her. This was in 2000. A very different time in journalism.

@TSindelar There are special horse cargo planes (or ways to equip planes for horses) but she said they can't safely tolerate a full cross-country trip. So they land half-way cross country, take the horses out and feed and pasture them, then load them up again.

Ok, I did stare at “was she Greek" for a long time.

She was a great editor. Very much enjoyed working with her. She moved into philanthropy not long after the dotcom bust.
