Municipal authorities and police quoted "fire safety" because the barricades might make it hard for the protestors to evac in an emergency.

Bitch, you ARE the emergency!

Especially galling when the current mayor of Amsterdam used to be the Green/Left party leader.

Supposedly a party of more nuanced thoughts than "must not upset Israel".
