@siracusa Is this the first time they’ve binned Apple chips in such a way that you can get an odd number of CPU cores?

I know you could get 7 vs. 8 GPU on the M1 Air, for example. But I don’t remember seeing odd CPU core counts.

@cdenesha No disabled RAM. I’m using the term more broadly, encompassing both silicon binning and Apple’s typical upsells based on artificial configuration limits.

@siracusa I will upgrade from my M1 iPad Pro which will be handed down to my wife, but w/o ultra urgency I’ll wait until WWDC so I can decide if I need to upsell $600 for the RAM/CPU upgrades... probably no.

@siracusa Is nano-texture compatible with the pencil? Isn't that going to be a problem? I'm curious at all those little grooves just scraping the pencil tip ever so slowly.
