@meredithlowry Oh, wow. Trying to think of why someone might (rationally) do this. To go after identical copyists in cases that might qualify as fair use? Just to scare people with § 289?
@design_law I'm trying to think of a fair use scenario for a fan guide. Maybe they've been burned by copyright before and are trying everything? But this is bizarre.
@meredithlowry Yeah. I was thinking more like a repair site for a discontinued product, maybe. But then why would you want to sue? I just know that I hear a fair number of patent people fret about fair use.
@design_law That's a good example. I tend to think about resale issues since exhaustion has come up too many times in my practice. Some patent holders are crazy.
