Anyone else following along with the latest Deluge community firmware improvements? Just found out the latest nightly firmware can load DX7 patches, which will be fun to play with!

@baymud we need to invest in public health like the Victorians building sewers.

@baymud nice. It's wild to see how the DX7 has somehow become THE default instrument to add to all open firmware.

@etherdiver @baymud should I change my plans and not actually sell my old DX11 after all?

@nigelharpur @etherdiver If nothing else, I would say all the modern units adding FM engines is more reason to sell it! I've had (and sold) a DX7, DX11, DX21, DX100 and this Deluge update lets me get rid of the Volca FM more eagerly too. Ha

@baymud @nigelharpur I'm inclined to agree: sell it unless you have sentimental feelings about it or are collecting. I love FM above nearly all other synthesis methods but those old FM synths are so unwieldy to program they're rarely worth it for modern workflows (unless you've been at it so long you can program the thing in your sleep). Much better to get a modern FM synth or plug-in for your FM needs.
