If anyone is curious about how I made my latest EP entirely on the Novation Circuit Rhythm, here's a deep dive on that unit and some of the my favourite features (along with a few gripes)
Anyone else following along with the latest Deluge community firmware improvements? Just found out the latest nightly firmware can load DX7 patches, which will be fun to play with!
@nigelharpur@etherdiver If nothing else, I would say all the modern units adding FM engines is more reason to sell it! I've had (and sold) a DX7, DX11, DX21, DX100 and this Deluge update lets me get rid of the Volca FM more eagerly too. Ha
@flockofnazguls also dealing with audio/video issues tonight as I've been trying to put together a video for Youtube, but have crackles and weird things going on. Sometimes the ghosts in the machines demand attention.
I'm with you on the log book. My video setup is so rudimentary and hacked together that I have to re-invent it every time and could use a leg up
@flockofnazguls thanks! No Mac, just trying to shoot videos of synths/talking with decent audio quality without special equipment as easily as possible (any barrier to entry = won't bother doing it. Ha). Running into issues with crackling audio, but may know the culprit
All the layers that went into the cover art for the Mental Clutter EP. Quite a few photos that ended up as subtle texture (I had big plans when I took that cauliflower pic).
The original idea was to use use that pic of the Circuit Rhythm as the cover, but that seemed too much like product placement, so I used it as inspiration instead.
Regardless of purchases, as I know everyone's wishlist piles up quickly on Bandcamp Friday, it's always heartening to see even listens and follows go up. Thanks for taking the time!

Got a new electronic EP coming out, my last live set was a costumed supervillain crooning and tomorrow's house show is acoustic folk. If only I could combine them all somehow
Lord Plunder made a surprise appearance on Saturday for their first ever live set. Turns out it is hard to see out of a supervillain mask, but at least the Deluge makes a great backing band! More to come?

Each of these tracks started by choosing an old sample/loop I had forgotten I made years ago and mangling them into something new. Was thinking of including the original loops as a bonus for folks who buy it---does that sound interesting or confusing/unnecessary?
I suppose I'm lucky that I don't get many #gear deal no-shows, but looks like two today! So many lowball offers too. I expect a certain amount of haggling, but I can't imagine offering less than half of what someone is asking
@etherdiver today it was just supposed to be a Volca and a computer docking station, but listed a pile of other volcas and a Minilogue XD so far. More to come! Purge time
@etherdiver it's always a give and take. I go through phases of trades and buying stuff, then the inevitable guilt of feeling too self indulgent and purge what I don't use enough. Ha
@etherdiver I definitely have too many too many synths and pedals (but I make those, that's my excuse!). I'd love to try a Hydrasynth, but I'm not sure it's for me
