@bampot in general, the dirtier the water, the happier the dog is in it....

Although I had a beagle that loved a hot bath as long as it had bubble bath in it, she would get in before you could, or join you...

@Thebratdragon
Our previous resident collie also loved a bath and would refuse to come out but this fella jist disnae like clean water, at all.
On the other hand ,you can't keep him out the sea or the loch or nice soft coo shit ! ha ha

@bampot @Thebratdragon we are either by a Loch or a river all of the time. Our collie is frequently manky, but he loves to swim and a floating frisbee is one of his favourites. Just as well.

    @bampot @Thebratdragon As kids we had a couple of Labs.
    treat dugs and very amiable but water was their weak point. Even a shallow puddle was an excuse to dabble. Our Collies have always been keen on water, although it tends to be a bit more directed and goal oriented (but that it Collies for you). In this case he wanted to stay with my partner, the real love in his life.

    @Wen @bampot Mum had an alsation who loved boggy stagnant smelly water, she would wade and roll in it. You couldn't get her near vaguely clean water.

    And of course my spangle/retriever-lab cross, who was a great swimmer. But labs and spaniels do tend to be.

    @Thebratdragon @bampot Its amusing when we are in The Borders. The cottage is by the Teviot and there is a shingle beach for easy access. Lots of people use it (and most even take their crap away). We frequently see people with labs who stand aghast watching a Collie chase a frisbee across the river - no hesitation and a strong swimmer.

    @Wen @bampot dogs are natural swimmers, and generally like water. And even more they like coming out of the water and shaking themselves dry right next to you....

    @Thebratdragon @bampot The labs were always really bad for that - especially if there was a picnic.

    @Wen @bampot and the little smiley snigger on their faces as they did it.....

    I learnt at a young age, Dogs have a sense of humour.

    It is the ‘who me' look a Lab can put on that always amuses, especially when they fart. The dug was traditionally always blamed, until by brother tried it and my mum pointed out that he had gone out with my sister and her friends a few hours before.

    Collies however always look guilty…

    @Wen @bampot alsations, blame me, I don't care, but what are you going to do about it.....
