Anybody use Nextdoor to connect with neighbors, organize events…?
I want to build more community but haven’t been on FB in quite a while. Apparently there’s a ND invite sitting in my inbox. I’ve heard it can be problematic, but then it’s also just a tool, depends on how we use it?
@tsyum if you treat it as it is - a modern local bulletin board you'd find in a park - its not a discussion forum (even though drunks might try to treat it as such), and filter subscriptions to only your neighborhood and maybe surrounding ones (default will do your whole metro, and will throw other neighborhoods back in for "engagement" if too quiet), it can be a good tool especially for local sales / sharing, community announcements, connections with local businesses, etc.
