I've kept up with Mastodon because it feels like the most "old internet" of the social media options. At the same time, I've been making things on the web, in geminispace, things not under my real name. And it's been really good, but there's been a real lack of community. Neocities feels like 90s cosplay. Gemini's like sending transmissions in the dark. I can't help but feel like something's slipping away and I'm fighting it but I don't know how to bring it back.
